11th & 12th Grade guys

Get Connected. Go Deeper.

We want to provide an opportunity for all students to get connected and have a community of fellow believers. On Sunday mornings, we offer a time for students to dig in deeper to God's word. Starting at 9 am on Sunday mornings, students will be able to hear an overview of the week's lesson from Bro. Brad. After that, students will break off into groups based on their age and gender, led by two of our Student team leaders. 11th & 12th Grade guys will be in room S-101. On Sunday night at 5 pm, students will have the opportunity to meet in the Student Building for a time of fun and discipleship. On Wednesday nights at 5 pm, middle school and high school students will join for a time of food & fellowship, followed by a time of worship and a message from Bro. Brad.

Meet the 11th & 12th Grade Guys Bible Study Leaders

Michael Hopper

Mr. Michael has been teaching Sunday school for our student ministry for 5 years!
"Growing up in a  youth program helped me develop and strengthen my faith as a young believer, so I feel very  blessed to be able to be a part of the youth Bible study here at OBC. To see students grow in their faith and find answers for some of life’s tough questions as we search God's Word together is exciting!
2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, "16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

-Mr. Michael Hopper

Travis Smith

Mr. Travis has been teaching Sunday school for our student ministry for over 15 years!
"1 Timothy 4:12 says, "Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity."
•It was youth who helped me begin my journey as a Believer!
- Teaching and coaching at Alcorn Central and seeing Christ lived out daily in my students and players challenged me to know more.
•It was youth who challenged me after I became a Believer!
- Sponsoring the Fellowship of Christian Athletes clubs at school and working with awesome youth and adult leaders helped me grow in my faith.
•It is youth who I am blessed to work with daily as a Believer!
- Education is my chosen field and calling and I learn something daily from my kiddos. We need to pass along the knowledge and wisdom we have gained through our experiences and it must be grounded in a biblical foundation!
- 2 Timothy 2:2: and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
...This is why I teach!
